An introduction - why I want to start a blog

Hello everyone! (Using the term 'everyone' very loosely, since the likeliness of more than three people ever viewing this is, let's be honest, small)

For a while now I've been following the blogs of a couple of 'internet heroes' who have captured my attention and not let it go - an impressive achievement, considering my embarrassingly tiny concentration span. I found these wonderful people through the genius medium of Youtube:  one of the sole devices of my procrastination, but a vital resource for nearly everything! If you asked me my favourite of these fab content creators, I would have to say Zoe Sugg - also known as Zoella. I've watched every single one of Zoe's videos since I discovered her, when I saw her pointless yet hilarious makeup-themed collab with another Youtuber, Marcus Butler. At this point I had only just begun to explore the world of weekly uploaders and their mostly lighthearted, five minute videos (besides my obsession with Charlieissocoollike a few years back). What I immediately liked about Zoe was how genuine she seemed, and her apparent easy-going nature and natural flare with style. My appreciation later grew when she uploaded a video describing her anxiety, which I could relate to and understand, despite never having really known about it before. And so I decided to click the famous little subscribe button, and I've been addicted ever since, having now gone on to watch a range of beauty vloggers, such as Tanya Burr, Louise Sprinkleofglitter and loads more.
Over this time, the excitement of creating my own little space to share little anecdotes and chunks of my life via the internet has grown, and I was aware of the inevitability of me attempting to start some my own blog of some sort. I thought I should experiment with writing on Blogger to begin with, before investing in an insanely expensive camera set up and jumping into the deep end of blogging: Youtube!

So here it is; my very first 'blog'. Maybe I will simply give up in a couple of weeks and completely forget I had ever tried to make it, or maybe it will become a huge success and I will be on my way to global domination in a matter of months... I very much doubt the latter of course, but if I am honest, I would be genuinely chuffed to receive even four views! I am slightly apprehensive about the idea of blogging anyway, because I am well aware that it might make the majority of teens that know me cringe - I think even I would. However I would be ecstatic with any kind of positive result to stem from this, whether it be an improvement in my writing skills, or making real connections with readers of the other side of the world.

My aim in this blog is to be honest and individual, because otherwise nothing can separate me from the thousands of other teenage girls who may fancy a spot of internet success. I'm not entirely sure at the moment how often I will try to post, although the sort of topics I would like to cover will probably include the things I like the most: fashion; reading; climbing; photography and friends! You may even spot a selfie from time to time. ;)

Thanks for reading!
